Whether you’re ready to book an appointment or just want to swing by and chat about ideas, we’re here to help bring your vision to life. We’ll work with you to design something meaningful, custom, and completely you.
Taking Care of Your New Tattoo
Getting a new tattoo is exciting, but the real work starts once you leave the shop. Proper aftercare is key, not just for healing but to keep your tattoo looking as bold and vibrant as the day you got it. A solid routine helps prevent infection and makes sure your ink stays crisp over time.
Right After Your Appointment
Once your tattoo is done, your artist will clean the area and cover it with a bandage or wrap. Don’t rush to remove it—follow their instructions closely, which usually means leaving it on for a few hours or even overnight, depending on when your session is over. When it’s time to take it off, gently wash the area with warm water and a mild, fragrance-free soap. Use only your hands to clean it—skip washcloths or sponges, which can be too harsh. Once clean, softly pat the area dry with a clean towel.
Keep It Hydrated
After washing, apply a thin layer of unscented ointment or lotion to keep the tattoo moisturized. A little goes a long way—your skin still needs to breathe to heal properly. Throughout the day, reapply as needed if the area feels dry or tight.
Protecting Your Ink (and Your Skin)
Try not to touch your tattoo unless your hands are clean, and wear loose-fitting clothing that won’t rub or irritate the area. Direct sunlight is a big no—the UV rays can cause your tattoo to fade while it’s healing. You’ll also want to skip swimming or soaking in tubs for at least two weeks to avoid potential infections.
Be Patient, Healing Takes Time
It’s normal to see some redness, peeling, or even a bit of itching as your skin heals. That said, resist the urge to scratch or pick at any scabs. Doing so can mess with the design and increase the risk of infection or fading. Patience is key here, those scabs will fall off naturally when the skin is ready.
